We, the Aborigines

Douglas Lockwood began writing books based on his own knowledge and experiences with the Aborigines of northern and central Australia in the late 1950s. The author states that in this book he tried to show the Australian Aborigines as human beings and not scientific phenomena, as people rather than things. He attempted to tell at least one facet of their lives in each story in hopes that a comprehensive picture would emerge.
