Making an Angel

Making an Angel is a comprehensive overview of the construction and erection of the Angel of the North in Gateshead. Created by the internationally renowned sculptor Antony Gormley, the Angel is the biggest public sculpture in Britain. This book includes over 200 photographs, alongside reviews and designs that chart the making of the Angel. It explores the way in which Gormley's creative vision and Arup's engineering skills and technical knowledge have combined to make a confidently conclusive sculptural statement.
