Visual Politics: The Representation of Ireland, 1750-1930

In this challenging and original interpretation of Irish subject matter in painting from the eighteenth to the early twentieth century, the focus is on the interaction of art and politics. Well know artists such as James Barry, David Wilkie and Jack Yeats feature, but more in the context of how they referred to Ireland in their work than in terms of overall assessment of their works.
