The Saturday before the coronation of George V, Nell Bray and her fellow suffragettes decide to organise a Women's Procession, ending with a rally at the Royal Albert Hall. All goes well until a fire breaks out on a float, a shot is fired and her well-meaning but hapless friend, Simon Frater, is left holding a gun over a dead body! Simon is accused of murder and Nell is hauled before the beak for obstruction.
