Nationalmuseum Stockholm

The collection of the Nationalmuseum, Stockholm dates back to the Royal Collections of the sixteenth century. This book offers a detailed history of this fascinating museum which houses extensive works of Swedish art from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries such as Carl Gustav Pilo and Carl Larsson, Dutch seventeenth century painting including Rembrandt, an internationally renowned collection of French eighteenth century painting including works by Watteau, Chardin and Boucher and an extensive icon collection consisting primarily of Russian material.
