With nearly 4000 entries, this book features designers from Europe, the United States and Japan. Each designer entry incorporates dates, a biography, details of design education, major works, exhibitions and awards and a bibliography. Other entries discuss firms, materials, groups and movements - from Acerbis to Zuber, Bakelite to wicker, the Aesthetic movement to the Vienna Secession. The book is complete with four illustrated sections and lists of international exhibitions. The author is a specialist on 20th-century decorative arts and is the author of the forthcoming book "The Chairs of Frank Lloyd Wright" and co-editor of "50 American Designers".
