The Yorkshire cities of Sheffield and Hull were severely bombed during the Second World War, but the county had already suffered conflict on its doorstep in the First World War when the German Navy bombarded Scarborough in 1914. This illustrated history looks at how Yorkshire was touched by war during the 20th century, remembering rationing, factory and farm work, sport and entertainment in photographs, posters and other ephemera.
