The Germ: Literary Magazine of the Pre-Raphaelites

As one of the few primary documents of the Pre-Raphaelite Movement, The Germ is essential reading for any student of both the literary and artistic side of the Pre-Raphaelites, providing as it were, their manifesto on the nature and aims of art in all its forms. The four original issues appeared in 1850 and were first reprinted in 1898 and again in 1901 with an introduction by William Rossetti, D.G. Rossetti's younger brother. This is a facsimile reprint of that 1901 edition.
