Common Wealth

Published to accompany a group exhibition at Tate Modern bringing together five celebrated contemporary artists from Latin America and Europe, Common Wealth explores the meanings, implications and politics of the words 'common' and 'wealth'. How is wealth manifested in art beyond the simple fact of the work's status as commodity, and what type of exchange must take place for another type of currency to emerge?
