This book presents approximately 170 of Southern, Central and East Africa's most commonly seen mammals in a clear and easily accessible way. Photographs highlight the main identifying features of each animal. Where sexual dimorphism or age differences exist, these are also illustrated. Thumbnail silhouettes lead the reader to the most likely group or family of animals, acting as a quick index to the various groups of animals. Distribution maps pinpoint the areas in which the animals occur and in addition, each species account is accompanied by a short list of the major parks/game reserves in which the species may be found.
