The author looks at the Zionist movement, the Nazi holocaust, Arab nationalism, superpower involvement, the uprising in the Gaza Strip and Yasser Arafat's declaration of a Palestinian state. Paul Harper was the deputy editor of "Middle East International" and has written several books including "The Arab-Israeli Issue" and "The Suez Crisis".
