Social Purpose & Schooling: Alternatives, Agendas & Issues

This work examines competing claims about alternative arrangements for schooling by looking at popular and accepted agendas of social and political purpose and at the more troubled issues that lie behind these assumptions. The book analyzes four types of schooling arrangements, drawing upon considerations of public and private schooling and upon social and educational aims.
