Cultures and civilizations all over the world have had beliefs that focused on a female deity who was identified with nature, the earth, birth, death and regeneration. These Goddesses had many different names and attributes, but what united them was a belief in their power to change lives and provide nurture and well being for humankind. The later 20th century and early 21st century have seen a huge revival of interest in Goddess spirituality, as so many people become aware of the fragility of our environment and climate change.
