Born in Uganda and raised in remote regions then teeming with wildlife, British photographer John Drysdale took his first pictures in Africa. After studying photography at the Guildford College of Art, Drysdale worked for many years in London, with Norman Parkinson at Vogue Studios and with Cecil Beaton as court photographer for the royal family.
