For more than 40 years, Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise epitomized the best of British comedy. Beginning their iconic partnership in 1941, they graced stages all over the UK, and moved from radio to TV screen, where they became a staple for family audiences with their famous star-studded Christmas shows, garnering viewing figures as high as 23 million.
