House of Peace and Good The Biography of a Community

The dynamic story of the Franciscan Renewal Center community personality -- a developing, changing, rooted in the past, living in the present, eye on the unpredictable future personality. Precisely because it is the story of a communal personality I call it a "biography of a community." It continues to respond to pressure, challenges, and a vocational call. The Casa personality has morphed in at least three different eras, perhaps paralleling the in-and-out presence of the friars here in the Southwest beginning in 1539. Writing the book required the ability to step back, return to the present, and consider the future, sometimes simultaneously and always with an eye open to discovery and revision.
