My Life as a Spy

Lawyer in post-Katrina New Orleans attempting to juggle the demands of work and family gets a call from someone seeking advice about a reward. Thus begins a fall of dominos through domestic abuse, insurance fraud, and high-stakes class action litigation, which ultimately threatens one of the nation¿s most prominent and powerful law firms. Interspersed, in alternating chapters, are the author¿s own autobiographical / critical / philosophical ruminations on topics ranging from women, to religion, to friendship, to music, to government, and literature, etc. And, along the way, we see the various ways in which our present day surveillance state places everyone under the looking glass, and coopts them into becoming a spy.
