Women in the Bible: A study of 137 Women

This book looks at the lives of 137 women in the Bible. We have included those who had an influence, either good or bad, on another person. Some of these women have only minor references in the Bible. We have not discussed those who were only mentioned in a genealogical listing.These women are mothers, wives, concubines, sisters, single, abandoned, a few politically active ones, and several prophetesses. They made a difference in their world and in some cases their decisions and actions have affected us today.Some inspire us to be stronger and ask for courage. Others encourage us to become better Christians, or teach us to turn away from sin and draw closer to God. Even though the cultures of these women were vastly different from ours today, many of the problems and trials that we face in today's world are similar to what the women in the Bible faced. There is no scripture in God's Word that demeans women or their importance in spreading the Gospel. Many are honored and blessed for their faithfulness.Christ cherishes women, fellow heirs to the Kingdom of God, and holds them in high esteem.
