I AM SO GLAD YOU ASKED!: Living the Lord’s Prayer Day by Day

Through the centuries, men and women have found peace, reassurance, hope, and challenge in the Lord's Prayer. These words, few in number yet so powerful in spirit, are among the most quoted in the history of man. Recognized around the world, the Lord’s Prayer is lovely in its cadence, profound in its simplicity, and moving in its power. It has, over the years, challenged serfs and humbled kings. Growing up in the center of the Christian tradition, I easily succumbed to the temptation to take for granted the familiar words of the Lord’s Prayer. Too often, in both private and public worship, I would mumble the words but hardly notice their impact. There came a time in the middle of my life, however, when the prayer's simplicity and depth captured me. My hope is that those who read these reflections will be stimulated and encouraged to meditate further on the Lord’s Prayer and explore its meaning for their own spiritual journey.
