Description:
From Ranch to Rails is the true story of a young man raised in eastern Montana. The story begins with his father and his grandfather who leave England for the new world. His father's ranch on the Missouri River was one of many condemned by the Federal government in order to build Fort Peck Dam as part of FDR's New Deal. WW II sent Jim to Europe, Omaha Beach and the Battle of the Bulge. His English war bride and their small son followed him back to the family ranch. His father's death and 2 major floods ended the dream of his own ranch. After years of struggling to survive, Jim went to work on the railroad and rose to a management position. It is the story of struggle, loss, pain and success.
