About the Author VICTOR SEN YUNG was born and raised in San Francisco's Chinatown. His father immigrated here from China in the late nineteenth century. Now known for his role as Hop Sing in the Bonanza series, he also played Cousin Charlie in Bachelor Father, Number Two Son in 25 Charlie Chan movies, and appeared in over 300 motion picture and television shows. The man beneath these stereotyped roles held a degree in economics from the University of California, pursued graduate work at UCLA and USC, and served as a USAF intelligence captain in World War II.
