Journey to Heaven Knows Where

After the death of her mama and increasing advances from her stepfather, Rae Rogers packs up her belongings and her three-year-old sister Hope. She takes the stagecoach as far from Rosedale, Texas, as her last dollar will allow, leaving her penniless and hungry. She used her funds to feed her sister while she did without. Once arriving in Limason, Texas, as she attempts to exit the stagecoach, she falls into a dead faint at the feet of a cattle rancher, Jesse Maxwell.
