A former Marine and a Guantanamo Bay veteran, Herb Bailey was introduced to scuba diving as a junior in high school and was active in the sport while stationed in Cuba. The first-time author is a graduate of Belmont High School (Massachusetts) and attended Boston University. Previously a television news anchor and sports director, he later became a public relations executive for a major steel producer, and then contracted with an international organization that took him around the world hosting sales seminars in 17 countries on four continents.
