Alphabet Appetite: Teaching Children Healthy Eating through the Alphabet

Alphabet Appetite: Teaching Children Healthy Eating through the Alphabet is a faith-based, healthy living curriculum for children ages 2-5 years. It is designed to be used in churches, classrooms and other community groups as a way to introduce children to healthy foods. Each lesson also builds literacy and fine motor skills, increases vocabulary and enhances cognition and development. Alphabet Appetite was developed by the Church Health Center in Memphis, Tennessee and is taught weekly at Church Health Center Wellness, our certified Medical Fitness facility. The staff of Child Life Education & Movement initially developed Alphabet Appetite as a way of addressing the growing problem of childhood obesity. Over the years it has been tested and improved by volunteers, interns, dieticians and families. Now, this curriculum has been enhanced and re-designed for use in your community. It is a unique and accessible resource that enables you to provide faithful, healthy education for children and their families.
