In the Lap of God

The writers of the Psalms faced difficulties. Whether they were dealing with persecution, loneliness, grief or even the prospect of death, they knew there was a source of comfort to whom they could turn for relief. While providing for their every need, this "God of all comfort" (II Corinthians 1:3) to whom they turned inspired these men to write of their anguish and of the strength they received from the loving Lord. Those who seek comfort today can find it in the Psalms. This book looks at these Psalms of comfort from the perspective of one whose heart has been broken by the sorrows of life but mended by the power of God's Word.
