Description:

In volume 1, Heaven’s Dirty Work the world met Mercy Sparx, an angry, jaded, witty, chain-smoking, whiskey chugging woman tasked with a mission. Hunting Heaven’s rogue “problem” angels, who are hiding on Earth. It’s probably worth mentioning that Mercy isn’t really human, despite her sometimes platinum blonde appearance. No, she’s a deviling from the realm of Sheol. Not Heaven, not Hell, not Purgatory. Somewhere else. Where you are born when the rulers of the Divine can’t quite label you.   In volume 2, Under New Management, Mercy must begin answering to different powers-that-be from Heaven, and things get a lot more complicated, her tasks more complex and her goals less clear. For a moment Mercy ends up the prisoner of an Illumnati-Occult-serving pleasure palace, which brings to question who’s even really running the show “up above." Meanwhile, a love/hate relationship grows with the mysterious exorcist Father Donavon. In volume 3, Family Roots [of All Evil], Mercy begins by helping to clean up a supernatural mess caused by events in volume 1, and we meet some familiar faces from other indie comic book universes! Her problems continue to mount, though, caught between a battle of Heaven and Hell while all she wants to do is kick back and have a double shot of bourbon. Mercy realizes strings are being pulled by her estranged, absent mother, giving orders from her prison in Hell. Old memories of Mercy’s parents (or lack of memories due to their absence) are drudged up, but there’s not much time to sort it all out when priority number one is stopping Mom from destroying the world.
