Small town Mississippi boy John Reed needs a vacation. As luck would have it, his sister is renovating her home in Hawaii, and as an architect he's bound to be useful. The set-up is ideal; he heads to the island, ready for some rest and relaxation-while overseeing his sister's new addition. But he didn't count on meeting Patti Scanlon. Patti is a city girl: fast-paced, ambitious, and attractive. Despite their differences, John and Patti become friends. Patti invites John on a weekend business trip, as a friendly favor to her. Harboring feelings of fondness for Patti, he accepts, more than willing to explore paradise at her side. But Patti is focused on a big sale; the intended big fish client is Jack Marshall. Marshall is immediately impressed with Patti's determination and beauty, and he soon decides she might be his perfect mate ... unless John has something to say about it.
