Ernest Hartmann is a world-renowned researcher and authority on dreaming, sleep, and personality. His recent book (2011), The Nature and Functions of Dreaming, argues that a dream is very similar to a poem. His work on Boundaries -- see his book (2011) Boundaries: a New Way to Look at the World -- may have an influence on his poems. The present volume is Hartmann's first book of poetry.
