'Sport, Peace, and Development' brings together chapters from both the more established (UNSDP, UNICEF, Right To Play etc) and emerging organisations and practitioners in the field. It is the first of its kind, and within its covers are thirty-six chapters in six sections exploring how sport can create environments that are conducive to peace and development.

A foreward is provided by Mr. Wilfried Lemke, Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary- General on Sport for Development and Peace, and a preface by Joel Bouzou, President of the Organisation for Peace through Sport.
