Who's Ready to Play?
Description:
Both a memory game and a thinking game, Who's Ready to Play? will keep toddlers and preschoolers actively engaged in books and reading. "Who's ready to play?" is just one of the questions Anton Poitier asks in this delightfully educational picture quiz book, illustrated by Tracy Cottingham. Each double page spread in the book includes simple, charming and colorful illustrations of twenty-four different animals, including giraffe, chameleon, kangaroo, dog and elephant. The animals are lined up in four rows and six columns, and each animal is in the same place on every spread (mostly) but something changes. At the top of each spread there's a question: "Who's afraid of mice?" or "Who's changed color?" or even, "Who's pooped?" which asks readers to study the animals and notice the tiny differences among them. You can spend so much time with this book, so much time learning while you're laughing - there's hours of enjoyment in here. From learning the names of animals to recognizing different expressions, to identifying mood, to counting, the possibilities are almost endless. Big and bright enough to read aloud in a group setting, this book is also fantastic for pre-readers to explore on their own. We just can't say enough good things about it.
