He is currently an associate professor of sociology and criminology at West Virginia University. Prior to his teaching career, Dr. Nolan was a police officer in Wilmington, Delaware for thirteen years. He then spent five years working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Dr. Nolan's research and teaching focus on group relations, crime, and social control.
