The illustrated Puer Natus Est (A Child is Born): Art of Christmas celebrates almost two thousand years of art on the theme of Advent. The book pairs artwork, including sculpture, painting and other media, with narratives of the gospels and related literature. The written texts support the art and fill in perceived gaps in the story of Christ's birth.
