The exhibit was produced as a partnership with the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History, the National Geographic Society, and the World Wildlife Fund. During three decades of fieldwork and assignments for National Geographic, Lanting encountered otherworldly vistas and captured moments of intimacy with some of the world’s most endangered animals. As seen here through these stunning photographic notecards, Lanting creates an enduring vision of Africa and demonstrates what is at stake for its wildlife and wild places.
