Summer Solutions Reading Comprehension Level 2

Summer Solutions 2nd Grade Reading Comprehension is for students entering 3rd grade. Without ongoing practice, literacy skills lag over the summer break. However, students can bridge the summer learning gap with 2nd Grade Reading Comprehension. All educational standards require children leaving Grade 2 to read grade-level text, demonstrate understanding of key details in a text, describe actions of story characters, and identify main ideas. Using the summer workbook, students complete 30 lessons of mixed review over a 10-week period, and this ongoing practice ensures retention of literacy skills and concepts covered in second grade. Additional skills in the workbook include solving simple analogies, using context clues, and building vocabulary with homophones, synonyms, antonyms, and compound words. By completing just one lesson three days a week, students enter third grade ready to begin learning new material right away.
