Once upon a time in the Far West, there was a Kingdom by the name of Stumpinghame -- a curious country, in several ways. In the first place, the people who lived there thought their Kingdom was all there was of the world. They thought, too, that the people of Stumpinghame knew everything there was to be known -- and that what they did not know was of no consequence at all.

Strangest of all, in Stumpinghame, the larger your feet, the more beautiful and elegant you were considered!

Then one day the Royal Court went into the deepest mourning -- for there had been born to Stumpinghame a royal prince . . . and he had such small feet! Nobody knew how the country could survive such embarrassment!
