Description:
While serving as a foreign missionary in remote and tropical Papua, Indonesia, Diana Baird experienced action-packed fun and adventure, laughter, heartache, tears, and discouragement. She relates her collection of short stories, Mama Dai Fell Through the Floor, to memories from her personal journals kept while serving in Indonesia. These journals will challenge those who say they could never go and live in a foreign country. Baird uses true life stories from her first few years of experiencing language and culture in Papua as a personal challenge for the reader. Mama Dai Fell Through the Floor will have you crying, laughing, and reconsidering your thoughts about foreign culture and language adjustment. Find strength and encouragement to reach out to your own mission field in your corner of the world. Where could we ever go that we could not have the opportunity to walk with the Lord through lifes events, step by step or moment by moment? No where on earth. Author Diana Baird still considers herself a missionary, while currently living back in America. She remains active in ministry, serving as a board member of an Indonesian non-profit ministry supporting national Indonesian missionaries. Diana and her husband Ron have also founded an American non-profit organization, Beyond Cultures International, supporting foreign missions. Diana has written many stories and childrens books which have been used in literacy classes to encourage reading for children and adults in Papua.
