Diamond hates her alcoholic father who is too weak to protect her from his crackhead girlfriend, Rhonda, who turns a blind eye when her homeboys enter Diamond's room at night. And most of all Diamond hates her mother who abandoned her when she was just a baby. All of this places Diamond on a self destructive path. When Diamond finds out she is pregnanat she vows to change her life but her father and Rhonda have other plans.
