River Stories and Other Memories
Description:
Life is a journey;every traveler a story. My make-believe characters sometime come to me on tiptoe in the middle of the night, tapping on the door of my imgination; others barge in without knocking. Stories are everywhere waiting to happen. Threads of plots dangle from bits of conversation overheard at malls, in grocery store check-out lines...is Annie really going to marry Mark after being jilted by Raymond? A few of the stories are scenes from childhood years long ago. I am the little girl who truly felt the fires of Hell in ;The Tithing, the child whose rotten brother clued her in about Santa in That Christmas& and the one who learned something about life and growing up in Dead Butterflies. My grandfather Archer is the hero in Anniversary Kiss. The tale was a legend in my family for all the time I can remember. Most of the other stories play around with familiar emotions from loneliness and love to fornication and forgiveness.
