2006, original trade paperback edition, Echelon Press, Laurel, MD. 235 pages. 2nd Snap Malek mystery novel. This author has one of the great stories in publishing history. As a boy, he read all the Rex Stout novels, all 70+ of them. His mom said, there won't be any more of them, sugar. But the author wrote an original Nero Wolfe novel himself, a bound type-script, a gift to his mom. Eventually, the author received permission from the Stout estate and he would write a total of 7 Wolfe novels, which most readers really enjoyed. Here is an original creation of the author, a story of Chicago of the late 1930's, narrated by a Tribune police reporter.
