More Than a Watchmaker is the autobiography of Rick Hohn, an amazingly accomplished man who was diagnosed at age two with cerebral palsy, which affects all four of his limbs and restricts his speech. The doctor who was diagnosing him told his parents that despite his severe disabilities he would be able to do anything, but make a watch. Her conclusion was shocking to them, but still encouraging. The doctor knew he had intelligence, but obviously lacked the fine-motor abilities to do intricate work. How true this diagnosis has been! Threading this theme throughout his autobiography, Rick Hohn glorifies God for having given him so many other abilities besides making watches. Broken at a young age from a deep depression, Rick struggled and persevered to become who he is today, a man of contagious joy.
