Diademamia's Blood-Red Peony
Description:
The book follows a pioneer woman from her predicted birth in Germany throughout her life. She moves through Holland and England to Ireland where she falls in love and marries. Hard times drive the young family back to England. Soon they sail to a promised land in Vermont. Eventually they settle on a farm in Pennsylvania. Unrest among the Quakers compels them to leave. They, with their youngest children, float their wagonload of household goods across the St. Lawrence to settle in Upper Canada.
