I Dared to Try

While growing up in rural Alabama during the Great Depression, Dr. Thomas Bobo learned many lessons that helped him live his life in a better way. The lessons that he learned, like kindness to others, sharing in times of need, and working together to achieve common goals, carried him out of poverty and on to the University of Alabama. Dr. Bobo became a teacher, administrator, and eventually the superintendent of schools for Montgomery County, Alabama. Dr. Bobo’s story is one of hard work that led to success and provided the strength to overcome the tough challenges.
