Voices from the Dexter Pulpit

The Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama, is known worldwide as the church pastored by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., during the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The editor is the current pastor of the historic church, and here gathers sermons from King, King's predecessor Vernon Johns, and the six other pastors who have served the church in the post-King era. The book shows that active voices of protest continue to echo from this great pulpit.
