Windsor (1935-2000) retired from over 30 years at the London School of Economics in 1997. In his final book, he introduces some of the principle features of strategic thought during the Cold War, for students of international relations and general readers. He thinks it is time to examine and question the validity of a complex of thinking that he, along with many others, took entirely for granted for a long time.
