Windows 95 Textbook - Extended Edition
Description:
This text combines solid reference material with good pedagogical activities and exercises. It is appropriate for students with little or no previous experience with computers or those with experience can either skip over or quickly read the material that they are familiar with. The text
introduces Windows' terminology and techniques immediately. If however more general information is required it is provided in the Introduction. Each chapter begins with a brief overview and statement of objectives and ends with a fairly comprehensive summary helping to keep the material in each
chapter integrated as much as possible. Almost all sections end with a brief Tutroial that reviews the material by leasding the student through a hands-on exercise. Each chapter also contains Review Exercises which contain completion, true/false, and multiple choice questions with the answers to
the odd-numbered questions provided in Appendix C and Build Your Own Glossary, where students provide definitions for a given list of important terms introduced in that chapter and Lab Exercises which require the students to perform the kinds of tasks they will encounter in using Windows on an
everyday basis. In addition, the text also contains end of section features including If You Want to Learn More, which provides a series of notes that delve more deeply into some of the chapter material. TIPs, Warnings and Margin Notes appear occasionally throughtout the text and there is a
Student's disk containing the files referenced in the Tutorials and lab Exercises that comes with the text.
