Her recent books include: The Anti-Semitic Progressive: The New Shape of an Ancient Hatred Rizzoli (2004); Islam: The War and the Hope, Interview with Bernard Lewis (2003) and The Abandonment: How the West Betrayed the Jews (2002). This is her first book in English. On July 9, 2005 Fiamma Nirenstein will receive the 2005 Ischia Prize for Best Journalist of the Year presented to her by the Italian Government. ANNE MILANO APPEL specializes in the translation of fiction and non-fiction from Italian to English. She holds an MA and a PhD in Romance Languages from Rutgers University.
