Mission Symphony
Description:
In his latest work, Reverend Chapman explores the third chapter of The Book of Order G-3.000, The Church and its Mission. Comparing it to Schubert's eighth symphony, commonly known as the "Unfinished," the author notes that mission is "what Christians do." Mission is our response to God's call in Christ . . . a call that persists throughout time and so is never complete. In his Program Notes, Rev. Chapman explains that each of us, as a believer, is thus a player in this great symphony. The audience for our symphony is an audience of one: God. The same God is also the conductor, always working to improve our performance.
