Doc Yak

Everyone in the small Nevada mining town is afraid of silent, menacing Doc Yak. With his billowing cape, dark hat pulled low over his eyes, and lethal knife in a jeweled sheath, he strikes fear into the hearts of law-abiding citizens and makes a target for ruffians and thugs seeking notoriety. Doc Yak speaks to no one, and whispered rumors about him abound. But Washita, an old Goshiute Indian, has heard Doc's lonely cry; Jeremy, the one-legged bartender, has seen Doc's selfless courage; and Meg, the auburn-haired woman who sells her favors at the Palace, has seen into his eyes, and his heart. These three each choose not to believe the local tales, and set out to find the secret of the real Doc Yak.
