South

South is Captain Ernest Shackleton's account of his expedition in 1914 to Antarctica on the HMS Endurance. It is an inspiring tale of the remarkable courage and heroism of Shackleton and his crew in the face of seemingly insuperable odds as they attempt to be the first to cross the continent from sea to sea. Due to the wreck of the Endurance they failed to achieve this goal. But the real story in South is the heroic effort to save the crew, which, because of Shackleton's fabled leadership, was in fact a monumental success.
