This volume is a study of Allied aerial strategy in Europe during World War II as devised by American General Carl A. Spaatz (1891-1974). Spaatz's strategy stressed the bombardment of Axis oil supplies as well as industrial plant in an effort to bring the German economy and war making powers to a halt. Author Davis published large portions of this work as a doctoral dissertation for George Washington University.
